The Climate: Endless Summer, Baja Style

Pescadero enjoys one of Mexico’s most pleasant climates, dry, sunny, and breezy year-round.

  • Winter (Nov–Apr): 22–28 °C (72–82 °F), clear skies and cool nights.

Surfing Around SALARA: Waves for Every Level

Whether you’re a first-time surfer or chasing your next perfect wave, Pescadero offers some of the best surf on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur, all within minutes of SALARA.

  1. Playa Los Cerritos – Beginner to Intermediate

Just five minutes from SALARA, Los Cerritos is one of the only swimmable and surfable beaches on the Pacific side. The long sandy bottom makes it perfect for beginners, while mid-sized winter swells create rolling, forgiving waves ideal for longboarders and intermediates.

  • Best season: November to April
  • Wave type: beach break
  • • Board rental & lessons: multiple surf schools on-site (ask our SALARA concierge to book lessons or private instructors).
  1. San Pedrito Beach – Advanced

Located only 10 minutes north of SALARA, San Pedrito is a classic Baja reef break. It’s known for fast, hollow right-handers that attract experienced surfers, especially when north swells hit in winter.

  • Best season: November to March
  • Wave type: right-hand point/reef break
  • Difficulty: advanced; reef bottom and strong currents

  • Tip: bring reef-safe booties and a shorter board; mornings are glassy, afternoons windier.
  1. La Pastora – Intermediate to Advanced

A short drive beyond Todos Santos, La Pastora delivers consistent surf and slightly more space than Cerritos. It’s a locals’ favorite for long right-handers on good north or west swells.

  • Best season: November to May
  • Wave type: reef and sand mix
  • Difficulty: intermediate to advanced
  • Tip: good option when Cerritos is crowded or small.

After your surf session, return to your plunge pool or schedule a massage and sunset dinner through our concierge service.

For guests, board storage, local surf transport, and surf lesson bookings can all be arranged on-site.

From sunrise swells to sunset cocktails, this is Baja’s rhythm, perfectly balanced at SALARA.
